The Challenge

Combining physical motion-controller input with mobile AR tracking for a kids’ action-adventure meant the elephant’s crouch, jump, attack, and swim mechanics all needed to map convincingly to real hand and body gestures — a much harder input problem than tapping a touchscreen, especially for a young audience.

Our Approach

We built the core moveset — crouch, jump, attacks, combo moves, swimming — around the motion-stick control scheme from the start, rather than adapting a touchscreen game to gestures afterward, using ARKit and ARCore to track the physical controller’s motion accurately enough for combo moves to register reliably. The swimming and trash-collection mechanic was built as its own distinct interaction, tied to the same environmental-cleanup theme running through the combat encounters against oil pumps and volcanoes.

Key Features

  • Motion stick-based control scheme for crouch, jump, attack, and combo moves
  • ARKit and ARCore-based motion tracking for physical controller input
  • Distinct swimming mechanic for underwater trash collection
  • Action-adventure gameplay built around an environmental cleanup storyline

Outcome

An action-adventure game blending motion-controlled gameplay with an environmental message, following an elephant’s journey to clean up pollution and hazards.
