WHAT AR CAN DO FOR YOU

Start with the goal, not the technology

Guide your visitors

Maps, stories and artworks that appear exactly where people are standing.

Example: An AR city guide for a European capital

Let customers try before they buy

Shoppers see a product on themselves or in their own room before they pay.

Example: Shoes tried on your own feet

Make print and events come alive

Point a phone at a poster, a brochure or a stage, and something happens.

Example: Print that plays video

Turn a visit into a game

Give people a reason to explore, collect and come back.

Example: A location based AR shopping game

THE KINDS OF AR, IN PLAIN WORDS

Which AR does your project need?

AR adds digital things to the real world through a camera. The main difference between the kinds is what the camera locks onto.

Image tracking

The phone recognises a picture, such as a poster or a product label, and places content on top of it.

Best for: Print, packaging and exhibitions.

Surface tracking

The phone finds the floor or a table and places 3D objects there at real size.

Best for: Product previews, furniture and tabletop games.

Location based AR

Content appears at real places on the map, using the GPS in the phone.

Best for: City guides, trails and outdoor games.

Face, hand and foot tracking

The camera follows a part of the body and adds something to it, live.

Best for: Try ons for shoes, glasses and fashion.

WebAR

AR that opens in the browser from a link or QR code. Nothing to install.

Best for: Campaigns, packaging and events.

Mixed reality on headsets

Digital objects appear in your real room through a headset, with your hands free.

Best for: Property tours and product demos.

Not sure? That is what the discovery call is for. We will tell you honestly which kind fits, even if it is the cheapest one.

Questions about AR

Do people need to download an app?

Not always. WebAR opens from a link or QR code in the browser. A full app gives steadier tracking and richer content, so we help you choose based on your audience.

Which phones does it work on?

Modern iPhones and Android phones. AR in the browser behaves a little differently on each, and we tell you up front exactly what your audience will see.

What is the difference between AR and VR?

AR adds digital things to the real world, usually through a phone. VR replaces the real world completely, through a headset. AR reaches more people. VR goes deeper.

Can AR work outdoors or across a large site?

Yes. We have built AR for a city, a film festival, an art biennale and a treetop path in Switzerland.

Can our own staff update the content?

Yes. We can add a simple dashboard for that. XploreAR, our own platform, lets a business publish AR with no code at all.

How long does an AR project take?

You see a working prototype in 2 to 3 weeks. A complete app usually takes a few months, with a new build to try every Friday.

How much does it cost?

A Prototype Sprint is a fixed $4,500. Full AR projects start at $10,000. You can also hire our AR developers from $20/hour.
